The Closure — January 2012

On 17 January 2012, after 14 years of operation, TotalVideoGames.com closed its doors. The changing media landscape made it increasingly difficult to sustain independent games journalism at the level readers deserved.

Back After 30 Years — 2026

Three decades after it all began, TotalVideoGames.com is back — but with a different approach. Rather than producing traditional editorial content, we've relaunched as a data aggregator, bringing together information from across the gaming industry into one place.
