No Marcus, Dom Or Cole In Gears 3 Campaign DLC

Cliff Bleszinski has dished some more info on the kind of DLC gamers can expect for Gears of War 3 by restating that there will be campaign-specific content heading to Xbox Live at some point, although key members of Delta Squad will not be featured in it.

“We have some DLC that’s coming up,” Bleszinski told The Telegraph. “We’ve confirmed we’ll be doing campaign DLC. One thing I can tell you is that you’re not going to see Marcus or Dom or Cole in it. I believe that DLC should be unique and cool, like The Lost and Damned, Gay Tony, Mad Moxie’s Underdome Riot. All those kind of things. DLC’s the place where you play and have fun. So that’s one thing that’s an indication of where things may be going in the future.”

Deus Ex Boss Battles Were Outsourced

Amid the the final drive of publicity for Deus Ex: Human Revolution - when game websites were publishing their reviews, launch trailers were being posted, and the first impressions from gamers were spilling out across the internet - one criticism was heard louder than any other: what's with the boss battles?

Detractors came down hard on the difficulty spikes that these bosses served up, the way they forced gamers into violent actions, and their incongruous style alongside the rest of the game. Now, almost a month after the game was released, a logical explanation for these boss sections has surfaced: they weren't developed by Eidos Montreal.

UK Chart: Dead Island On Top For Second Week

Dead Island has repeated the success of its debut on the UK charts last week by landing itself on the top spot for a second week running. Incredibly, the game has pulled in more sales in its first fortnight on the market than any other Deep Silver-published title has managed in its lifetime across the UK according to official Chart-Track figures.

Although retail sales for the game have been strong, publicity for it elsewhere has been far from perfect. Techland initially uploaded unfinished Xbox 360 code onto Steam that was then purchased by swathes of PC users shortly after launch, one of whom subsequently came across the term “Feminist Whore” in the game's source code as a power for one of its female characters. Much internet carnage ensued.
