A second title is announced from the development studio that makes Rare look prolific...
Having been created way back in 2000 by ex-Rare head Martin Hollis, Zoonami's output in the past six years has been about as prolific as an author with writer's block - zero.
The studio announced their first title, Funkyzilla, four years after their formation, and though that has yet to be released, and it's now confirmed the development of a second: Zendoku. The game, which will be published by Eidos for Nintendo DS and PSP, blends Sudoku and battle puzzles, with players having to attack or defend against their opponent whilst they try to complete a Sudoku-like grid...which at least it sounds original.
"ZENDOKU brings a fresh and accessible approach to the enormously popular Sudoku puzzle craze. We look forward to working with Zoonami and take ZENDOKU to a global audience." said Larry Sparks, Head of Brands Management, Eidos.
"ZENDOKU's focus is fun and innovation," said Martin Hollis, CEO, Zoonami. "We've turned a familiar paper and pencil game into a puzzling, battling, micro-gaming, fighting extravaganza."
Whether Zendoku will see the light of day will have to be seen - though neither developer or publisher have revealed a release period for the handheld title...
We'll have more news shortly...
