Xbox Japan Boss Reassures Far-Eastern Gamers News

Up to eight Japanese centric titles set to reinforce the Xbox 360`s Far-Eastern launch...
In a bid to reassure Japanese gamers, Head of Xbox Japan Yoshihiro Maruyama has revealed that up to seven or eight Japanese developed games will be available from the next-generation consoleâs launch at the end of the year with more in the early stages of development. The former Square-Enix executive spoke with Famitsu magazine and confirmed that some of the titles will be first-party developed by Microsoft Japan.
Questioned about whether the titles will include games from Tetsuya Mizuguchi, Hironobu Sakaguchi, or Yoshiki Okamoto, Maruyama-san hinted that Okamoto-sanâs title is currently at the mid-development stage and would not be included in the launch line-up.
Maruyama-san also refused to be drawn into the question of pricing or release dates for the Xbox 360, commenting that the final launch date is yet to be decided upon and that the price of the console will be, ââ¦within the range of other game machines.â
