Xbox 360 Demand To Outstrip Supply At Xmas News

By Jon Wilcox on 06/06/2005 Xbox UK boss talks to industry publication about the build-up to the Winter launch of the Xbox 360...

In an interview with UK industry publication MCV, Head of Xbox UK Neil Thompson, has admitted that whilst there will be strong supplies of the Xbox 360 distributed throughout the country, they might not be able to meet the expected high demand for the console.

Speaking to MCV, Thompson said “We feel as a company we’ve done the groundwork to get to a point where we can do the global release; we feel we’re going to deliver and have a great Xmas…I think demand is going to be phenomenal so we see that as a really difficult thing…Will we execute well so retail will have good volume? Yes. But I don’t think we’re going to meet demand as people are going to come into this platform in a big way.”

The article does include a few quotes from British retailers who are sceptical of the Xbox 360 launch this Winter, especially after the extensive problems with the stock levels of the current generation Xbox, which has led them to make the decision not to receive pre-orders for the console. One anonymous source even said that whilst they were running a pre-order scheme, “After the current debacle everyone is very nervous of Microsoft and Gem’s ability to deliver.”

Whether or not Microsoft can deliver on the audacious plans to launch the Xbox 360 worldwide this Winter is of course up for debate, and questions are sure to continue in the coming months as whether the stocks will meet even a fraction of the demand expected.

We’ll have more on the build-up to the Xbox 360 launch shortly...

Well Gamers... The 3 year extened Warranty ( from Date of Purchase ) for the  Microsoft xbox 360 started Nov 22, 2005. As of Saturday they will be going out of warranty.

For any Console repairs, PSR1 is the web site to google. They are  the way to go. 877-PSR-FIX1

by using a standard 64mb memory card show just what a cheap skate you are. go get a 60 or a 120gb hdd instead of your standard card, lol i bet you dont even have a hidef connection either.

oh and yes there is info on memory size to use xbl there has always been a restriction on size due to needing the hdd to play xbox classic games plus downloadable content, go on make a fool of your self and make a claim only itll just get throwen out like you will. go back to playing on your playstations

this is complete BS, Im using a standard memory card, I payed for my xbox live membership and they will not let me use it because of an update.  I should file a claim against microsoft for selling me a faulty product.  there is no where that says you must have x memory to use xbox live.  this is why Mac is better and they should make a gaming system that blows microsoft out of the water

Major Nelson is a douche anyhow, and the new Xbox Experience, which doesn't look anything like the Mii or Photo channels on the Wii, (add sarcasm according to taste); shows Nelson for the corperate whore hs is.
