Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires gives armchair generals total control of their kingdom. Now, gamers can issue direct orders to each officer or signal general commands to officers on the field. Players will order when the army will take the offensive, defend their ground, or have all officers gather for an ambush. Gamers can also choose the officers for an attack force, entice captives into joining the kingdom's service and even expel officers from the kingdom.

Special changes to Empires as KOEI confirms a new chapter for the Playstation2 and Xbox 360...

Although the Dynasty Warriors franchise may not hold the same popularity across Europe as it enjoys throughout Japan, KOEI are making sure they come thick and fast with today's announcement of Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires for the Playstation2 and Xbox 360.

DW5 Empires replaces the previously confirmed Dynasty Warriors debut on the Xbox 360 in the shape of Dynasty Warriors 5 Special, which TVG has since learnt has now been put on hold as Empires is believed to offer a deeper gaming experience - make of that what you will.

With the aim to take command of China's 25 regions and build an empire through cunning diplomacy and brute force, Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires allows players to issue direct orders to officers or signal general commands on the battlefield. KOEI also promises a greater command over Government, Product Development, Diplomacy and Battle Tactics within the game, introducing 25 new policies for a total of 75 throughout the game.

Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires is scheduled for a summer 2006 release on the Playstation2 and Xbox 360; TVG will have further coverage soon.
