Peter Molyneux spews out Fable 2 details left, right and centre at Microsoft's keynote GDC address...
Peter Molyneux has let rip about Fable 2 during Microsoft's keynote address at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco today. Among the golden nuggets of information were details on the game's multiplayer co-op feature, as well as an XBLA tie-in game for the highly anticipated RPG.
The co-op feature will allow other players to drop in and out of your game where they can earn gold, which you can then tax them on. Early indications are that such co-op partners will be able to significantly affect your game world with their actions.
Currency is set to play a key role in Fable 2 (everything from Castles to huts are for sale in the game), and gamers will be able to earn gold to spend before the game is actually released via an Xbox Live Arcade tie-in game.
Currently in development at Carbonated Games, the XBLA game will allow players to raise funds to purchase various items for use in Fable 2 (weapons, armour etc.). Apparently similar to gambling games such as roulette, the XBLA game will be released before Fable 2 is available in the stores.
The events of Fable 2 will take place 500 years after the events of the original. In these older lands of Albion, you will now be able to raise whole families if you wish. Get married, have some kids and then watch them grow up, while your trusty canine companion (which you have to feed and care for, by the way) stays by your side at all times.
