WoW Patch Enhances PvP News

Finally Cross Realm Battlegrounds and the introduction of World PvP in the latest upgrade...
WoW fans hopefully won't have to discover new things to do whilst waiting around for Battlegrounds to start in the latest patch, as finally the long-overdue Cross Realm Battlegrounds becomes a reality.
Opening up Battlegrounds to multiple servers and the opportunity for players to make their accomplishments known beyond just their own realm, the update limits the selection to certain realms that are able to battle each other in designated "battlegroups" - a list of which will be released by Blizzard soon.
The patch also introduces "World PvP", a set of objectives within Silithus and the Eastern Plaguelands, which any player can undertake on a voluntary basis to earn individual bonuses, honour points and zone-wide faction benefits.
In Silithus players will encounter geysers of a strange red crystalline dust that have appeared in the desert. The dust, entitled Spice, has valuable properties which players must harvest and take back to their faction's base in the area. On normal realms, players will become PvP enabled as soon as Spice is collected; when a certain amount has been harvested, the faction will gain a powerful buff that benefits all members in the area or in the Ahn'Oiraj dungeon.
Across Azeroth, the Alliance are seeking to expand their influence in the Eastern Kingdoms, with their sight set firmly on the Eastern Plaguelands. By retaking the towers in the area and and re-establishing their bases, the Alliance hopes to pin the Forsaken in a stranglehold between themselves and the naval forces. World PvP in this area is based on a "Capture-and-Hold" mechanic, focussing on the four towers located in the Eastern Plaguelands. PvP flagged players can attempt to capture a tower by keeping the area around it free of enemy players, with the capture time speeding up based upon the number of allies around the tower. The faction that controls a tower will gain a benefit, such as a fast flight path across the area; any faction that controls all four towers will earn a zone-wide buff that increases attack power or spell power against the Undead for all faction members in the area or in Stratholme.
