WoW Continues To Push Vivendi Games Growth News

Full year and quarterly growth continues for Vivendi Games as World of Warcraft success continues...

Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft continues to drive revenue growth for publisher Vivendi Games, according to figures released by Vivendi Group today. Both quarterly and full year financial figures show a rise in revenues of 33.1% and 25.4% respectively, which have been accredited to the success of the Azeroth-based MMO.

Full year revenues for the games division rose from 641 million Euros (£424 million) in 2005 to 804 million Euros (£532 million), whilst results for the fourth quarter jumped from 245 million Euros (£162 million) to 326 million Euros (£216 million).

The performance of the Vivendi Games division is in stark contrast to the Vivendi Group as a whole, which announced a slight increase in revenues for 2006, up 2.9% from 19.48 billion Euros (£12.89 billion) to 20.04 billion Euros (£13.26 billion).

Either way, it won't be long before we find out if our Mages, Warriors, and Draenei will have to pack for arctic conditions... that sounds so stupid... draenies suck n they r a race not a class

Wow is designed in such a manner that you HAVE to commit immense number of hours into the game in order to actually achieve anythuing. All the items you will get in drops will be 2-5 levels lower. The game is designed in codepency and farming tons of... [ Read full comment... ]

It's silly to call one MMO is better than another. They are all designed to target different market shares and niches. Thats like going to a women's shoestore and complaining that their are no boots. It is not the stores fault, it is yours.
