505 Games has revealed that they will be publishing the fifth Wild Arms game in Europe. The PlayStation 2 exclusive, from developers XSEED, will see a European release of November 30th, some ten years since the first Wild Arms game came out.
The theme is the Wild West in Wild Arms 5. Characters, weapons and environments will take a strong influence from Wild West films and music. Additionally, in a welcome return from Wild Arms 4, the HEX battle system will once again be on hand to resolve the many conflicts you'll encounter.
The story takes place on a planet called Filgaia, which was inhabited by a technologically advanced culture thousands of years ago, although humans on the planet have since abandoned these technologies for reasons unknown.
About a hundred years ago, the Veruni arrived and took control of the planet, forcing humans to do menial jobs for a living. Now, in the present day, Dean Stark and Rebecca Streisand must help a girl called Avril to regain her memories after they find her in the hand of a fallen golem (large mechanical devices built thousands of years ago). Understandably, this results in much travelling across the lands of Filgaia.
