Warner Signs Up For Lost Planet Movie News

Capcom's snow-ridden, bug-heavy shooter to get a movie makeover thanks to Warner Bros - and Solid Snake himself...
Capcom's movie portfolio looks set to get even bigger, with Lost Planet following the likes of Street Fighter and Resident Evil to Hollywood.
According to US entertainment publication Variety, a feature film based on the third-person shooter, which is set on a sub-zero planet filled with arthropod extras from Starship Troopers, has been picked up for distribution by Warner Bros.
What's more, Solid Snake has signed to produce the script...well, David Hayter has. The voice behind Hideo Kojima's legendary stealth solider may have missed out getting his vision of Metal Gear onto the big screen, but he'll get to team up with Avi Arad once more on Lost Planet, following their work on the X-Men and X2 movies.
Capcom are believed to be part-financing the movie, following a similar strategy to Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li, which is currently set to arrive in 2009.
