THQ take the WEE license too far, with a car combat title featuring wrestlers!!!
THQ perhaps went one franchise too far today, by announcing WWE Crash Hour, a car combat title featuring wrestlers from the WWE. In development at Pacific Coast Power & Light, the game is set for release early next year on PS2, GameCube and Xbox.
WWE Crash Hour will allow players to choose from over 30 fantasy vehicles each personalised by a wrestler, such as Hollywood Hulk Hoganâs sports car, Big Showâs big rig, The Rockâs luxury sports car and Stone Cold Steve Austinâs jacked up monster truck, across 12 levels featuring traps and hazards.
âWe developed these fantasy vehicles by working closely with World Wrestling Entertainment to ensure true to character development and storyline,â said Peter Dille, vice president, marketing, THQ. âIf the Rock is going to get behind the wheel of a sports car personalized especially for him, we want to make sure that all of his attitude and personality is accurately portrayed in the vehicle.â
Players will be able to compete in multiple match types including ladder and hardcore matches modified for insane car combat. World Wrestling Entertainment fans can also annihilate opponents with multiple weapons customized for each vehicle or grab power-ups to really put the hurtin' on their foe.
Commentary will come from Jim Ross, and players will have the chance to taunt opponents with signature taunts.
