Publishers Vivendi Games has announced an astonishing revenue increase of 91.9% (above the prior year) for the first half of 2007. This increase continues an ongoing trend of impressive financial reports from the publisher, most of which are due to their cash-cow MMO franchise World of Warcraft.
Vivendi has noted that the 91.9% increase is largely down to the boost in WoW subscribers following the release of the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion pack earlier this year. Following its release, WoW's subscriber base increased to more than 9 million people worldwide.
