Vivendi-Universal confirm the latest installment in the SWAT franchise...
Vivendi-Universal today announced plans to return to the SWAT franchise, with the release of SWAT 4 for the PC.
Currently in development at Irrational Games, SWAT 4 follows the same vein as its predecessors by allowing players to take control of a squad of up to five police officers, tasked with performing dangerous operations such as high-risk arrests, hostage rescue and counter-terrorism.
Featuring the Vengeance engine powered by the latest Unreal engine, SWAT fans can expect 16 different environments representing a wide variety of operational locations. In addition the game makes use of the HAVOK physics engine, to further heighten the experience by providing a layer of âatmospheric authenticityâ.
Players can expect to get their hands on a variety of firearms to assist them throughout the game, including authentic assault gear such as the Colt M-4 carbine, the Benelli M4 Super 90 shotgun and Surefire tactical lights.
The game will feature three competitive multiplayer modes as well as a co-operative campaign mode; weâll have more information soon.
