Nintendo handheld to crack open the candy with confirmation at Comic Con 2007...
Following news at E3 that Rare's Viva Pinata is in the process of being ported over to PC, and confirmation of the mini-game orientated Viva Pinata: Party Animals for Xbox 360, Microsoft's intent on developing the brand received a further nod over the weekend at Comic Con 2007, when Viva Pinata DS was unveiled for Nintendo DS.
In development at Rare, Viva Pinata DS continues the gameplay of the original, but changes to a more top-down view with the jump to handheld.
Despite being a subsidiary of Microsoft Game Studios, Rare has continued to work on a number of titles for GameBoy Advance and DS since it was bought by the Redmond corporation in 2002, so can we expect further bouts of co-operation between the two hardware 'rivals'? Banjo DS or Kameo DS, perhaps?
