SEGA announce a heavyweight line-up for the forthcoming AM event, suggesting Xbox360 ports on the horizon...
OK so the rapid decline of arcades in Europe usually leaves our coverage pretty shallow, however SEGA today made a host of announcements that is guaranteed to put a sparkle in the eyes of anyone who recalls pumping 50pās down on the pier.
Official confirmation of Virtua Fighter 5 is likely to expand beyond the arcades and onto a next-gen machine at some stage. The only confirmed characters at this stage are Akira and Sarah, although we expect a lot more familiar faces to join the fray.
Power Smash 3 is the latest title in the hugely popular Virtua Tennis series and again a likely candidate to make the conversions to the home consoles at some stage. Afterburner needs no introduction and if it does shame on you, what are you doing reading about videogames?
Finally the cryptically titled SciFi makes a notable appearance given the reappearance of famed Outrun, Virtua Fighter, Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki, who is currently producing the title.
All titles are believed to run on the Lindbergh board which is fundamentally based around the Xbox360, suggesting that Virtua Fighter 5 could make an appearance on Microsoftās new box in the not-too-distant future.
All games are being shown at Japanās AM event towards the end of September; weāll have further information soon.
