London Megastore housing a campsite for PlayStation 3 queue...


Virgin and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have today launched their joint plans in the run up to the PlayStation3 release on Friday, which has included turning the ground floor of Virgin Megastore on London's Oxford Street into a campsite.

The move, which has been made to create a safe environment for PlayStation3 gamers as they wait to pick up their shiny monolith, may be at least partly motivated by a desire to avoid the sort of violent events that occurred during the North American launch of the system last year.

Reports on the UK's Teletext earlier today suggested that London's Metropolitan Police were concerned for the safety of midnight queues on Friday morning.

lol it wont happen in 9 years, i take it youve been asleep for quite a while as the rest of the world knows there is a resession going on and people are less likely to buy new stuff as they dont know how long before there place of work shuts down cau... [ Read full comment... ]

this a good thing over 9 yrs it will happen folk wiil soon tire of wii's and the xbox(which is nearly all shooters, fun 4 a while, but ps3 does more in all ways

lol just how does sony expect the ps3 to sell more than the ps2 is a bit dumb considering the ps2 is still selling bucket loads across the world and with 120 more titles expected to hit the ps2 this year is it a real objective to shift over 140 milli... [ Read full comment... ]

not true. mine jumped 50 to 100 and i have had no problems since the update. i just hope that theres patches coming out for trophies soon...
