The UK government along with representatives from ELSPA, the BBFC and consumer groups today discussed the issue of mature videogames and their associated classifications at the highly publicised "violent videogames" summit.
Although details of the discussion have yet to be revealed, itâs believed that increasing the education amongst parents and making classifications clearer is the likely outcome. Rogue shoppers could also be used to highlight retailers breaking the law, following similar schemes to target those selling alcohol and cigarettes to underage children.
The chance to discuss the issue openly and intelligently appears unlikely to be enough for some howeverâ¦
