SEGA Europe confirms Viking: Battle for Asgard from the creators of Rome: Total War...

Following the release of Spartan: Total Warrior, SEGA today lifted the wraps on The Creative Assembly's latest console foray with Viking: Battle for Asgard on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3.

Assuming the role of Skarin, dubbed a new iconic hero, Viking: Battle of Asgard takes place during a fierce struggle within the realm of the Norse gods. Banished for defying Odin, the goddess Hel has raised an army of undead warriors to enslave the mortal realm of Midgard and release the ancient wolf-god Fenrir to commence the start of Ragnarok - an apocalyptic battle that threatens the whole of Asgard and the gods themselves.

Chosen by Odin's daughter Freya, the goddess of love and wisdom, Skarin must overcome vast battlefields, tame dragons and command them to unleash their fury and explore vast open world environments as he attempts to free his Viking kinsmen.

"Skarin is a cutting edge hero in a fantastic re-imagining of Norse Mythology. Skarin is obviously a very dangerous man." said Gary Knight, European Marketing Director SEGA Europe. "Add in his inner conflict, a confused heritage and a growing distrust of the Gods and you have the makings of gaming's next great hero."

Hopefully it's better then Spartan, that wasn't what I expect from TCA. Anything less then God of War on an epic scale is going to disappoint.
