Details and impressions from the recently released Vietcong demo + new screens.
Pterodon released the first multiplayer demo of Vietcong late last week; the first-person shooter is set during the Vietnam conflict and has been generating a lot of interest for its accurate recreation of Vietnamās jungles.
Weāve played the demo over the weekend and came away suitable impressed, in particular with the luscious jungles that are densely populated with all number of different types of flora and fauna. Besides the visual effect it also adds a lot to the game, creating a claustrophobic feel that weāve yet to see in any previous Vietnam title.
The demo contains one multiplayer map, which can be played in three different modes; the standard deathmatch and CTF are present, however the focus is on an objective mode, whereby US forces have to rescue a downed pilot, whilst those playing as the Vietcongs have to stop them.
Unfortunately thereās not a lot to the demo, however itās certainly got us wanting the final game to check out the single player mode.
