Japanese publication confirms the continuation of the Valkyrie Profile series...
Japanese publication Jump has reported that the Square-Enix RPG Valkyrie Profiles is set for a sequel. According to the report, the PlayStation2 title, initially entitled Valkyrie Profiles Silmeria features the sister of Lenneth (heroine of the first title) called Silmeria although a storyline is yet to be announced. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the first title followed the story of the Valkyrie Lenneth as she finds the souls of those lives lost tragically, and takes them to Vahalla to fight in the Norse apocalypse Ragnarok. The game was released on PSone in 1999 in Japan and the US in 2000.
TVG contacted British based Square-Enix representatives about Valkyrie Profiles, but they refrained from comment. Further information is expected at Jump Fiesta 2006, which takes place in less than a fortnightâs time on the 17th and 18th December.
