Vagueness Returns To Matrix Online Release News

The much anticipated MMORPG based on the Wachowski brothers’ trilogy has its release date amended…
With the movie trilogy now finished over 12 months ago, fans of the Matrix have had to wait quite a while before they can continue the storyline in The Matrix Online â“ and now it seems that they may have to wait that little bit longer. After a series of MMORPG suicides in recent months, letâs hope that the Matrix will see the light of day.
In a statement, Warner Bros and SEGA confirmed that the game, originally pencilled in for a January 2005 release in the US, has now been given the slightly more ambiguous period of Spring 2005.
Jason Hall, Senior Vice President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment explained that the reason for this change was because, "We [WBIE] are committed to quality games and making this the best possible experience for playersâ¦Since this is our first MMOG, we are taking measured steps to ensure it will be polished and are investing additional resources into our community oriented initiatives."
