By Chris Leyton on 14/06/2005 Trade report suggests Cold Winter developer will shortly become part of the Vivendi-Universal stable...UK trade publication, MCV, is today reporting that Vivendi-Universal sit on the verge of yet another acquisition, this time around focussing on the UK based Swordfish Studios. Established after the collapse of Rage in September 2002, Swordfish has recently concluded development on Vivendi-Universalâs spy-thriller, Cold Winter; prior to this came Acclaimâs World Championship Rugby, while development commences on Hip Interactiveâs Rugby â06 and Codemasters Brian Lara International Cricket.
If the acquisition moves forward it marks the latest in a recent flurry of consolidation from Vivendi-Universal, whoâve recently brought both Radical Entertainment and Swinging Ape Studios under its belt as internal studios.
Weâll have confirmation soon.
