Vivendi-Universal and 20th Century Fox have announced in a joint statement that VU Games has acquired the license to produce videogames based on the forthcoming animated feature, Ice Age 2: Meltdown. The game, which will be released for Xbox, PlayStation2, GameCube, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, and PC, is set for a Spring 2006 launch.

We are excited to continue our successful partnership with Fox to create an extension of the Ice Age story in a fully engaging interactive entertainment experience," said Peter Della Penna, Chief Operating Officer, Product Development for VU Games. "Academy Award(r)-winning animation studio Blue Sky, has contributed an impressive visual style and hilarious storyline for our development partners to turn into great family gaming."
