The BAFTA Game of the Year is to get a follow-up in Spring 2007; Assassin's Creed and Brothers In Arms pushed to fiscal 2007/08...
Coinciding with the release of their financial results for the first half and second quarter of 2006/07, Ubisoft has today confirmed that development is underway on Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.
Whilst it may not be the most surprising news in the world given the success of the first GRAW (recent winner of the 2006 BAFTAs for Game of the Year and Best Technical Achievement), it does come with a bit of a sting in the tail: the delay of Assassins Creed and a second delay for Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway.
Originally set for release in the run up to Christmas 2006, the delay to Brothers in Arms will be something of a disappointment for fans of the series, who've been waiting to get their hands on the next-gen instalment since it was first announced at Tokyo Game Show 2005. Assassin's Creed, which had been expected to have been released in Spring 2007, will join Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, with both titles now expected to launch in the 2007/08 fiscal year (April 2007 to March 2008).
Further details on Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 are yet to be confirmed. We'll have more news shortly...
