Ubisoft Announce Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life News

Ubisoft set to take a risk and publish a Harvest Moon title in Europe...

Ubisoft today shocked the gaming community by announcing the European publishing rights to Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life for the GameCube and Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town on the GameBoy Advance.

For the uninitiated the Harvest Moon titles are HUGE in Japan and have built up a strong status amongst the gaming community. Essentially a farming-simulator mixed with a dating game, the games main focus is the relationships you create with the various other characters in the game world. In âA Wonderful Lifeâ the game spans an entire lifetime as you hopefully meet the girl-farmer of your dreams and begin to start a family!

OK we know this may sound a little too different for the majority of gamers, but youâll just have to believe us on this one, the Harvest Moon games hold a special place in our hearts and deserve to get some recognition outside if Japan.

The GameCube title introduces 40 new characters to the Harvest Moon timeline, along with a completely revised system to rear animals and grow crops. The GBA title is based in Mineral Town, the town featured in the PSOne title Harvest Boon: Back to Nature.

In addition players will be able to link both games to connect the two towns, allowing characters to travel between the two towns and open up a variety of different surprises.

"Ubi Soft is looking forward to distributing the delightful Harvest Moon games later this year. The series has a loyal following and a well-deserved reputation for top-quality gameplay" Commented Sally Cormack, Product Manager for Ubi Soft "The latest titles will bring many exciting new elements to the series"

Hiro Maekawa, President & CEO of Natsume Inc. stated, "With the strength and dedication of Ubi Soft's powerful sales force we feel that the Harvest Moon franchise will become a household name in all PAL territories. Once again we are truly excited to be working with such a reputable and industry leading company as Ubi Soft!"

Both games are scheduled for release in October; suffice to say Ubisoft have made us all very happy indeed.
