Ubisoft ramps up the war titles with a Ghost Recon sequel currently in development…

Having recently confirmed a new title in the rainbow Six 3 series, Ubisoft has recently confirmed that a sequel to the hit Ghost Recon is currently in development.

"Ghost Recon is now recognized as a top-selling franchise, and we've kept the values that made the first opus such a success," said Alain Corre, Ubisoft's Managing Director for Europe, Asia Pacific and South America "Now with Ghost Recon 2, we have brought up the intensity and adrenaline in order to throw the player right into the middle of modern war-chaos. Our teams have been working on bringing immersion to the next level - and the result is simply amazing. You will really feel like you are at the center of a true war machine when playing this game."

In development at Red Storm Entertainment, Ghost Recon 2 is set in the near-future and based within a tense political situation in East Asia; itās up to players to take control of a crack group of elite Special Forces to save the day.

Ubisoft are promising a host of changes and enhancements to the original, including an entirely new graphics engine and a wide range of gameplay enhancements to make the experience even more intuitive.

"Ghost Recon has established itself as a mega-selling franchise, and we've retained the core elements that made the first game such a success," said Laurent Detoc,

President of Ubisoft, Inc. "But for Ghost Recon 2, we wanted to dial up the intensity and adrenaline to create an experience of total war. We've retooled and improved every aspect of the game, and have integrated a host of incredible new features - and the result is amazing. You will truly feel like you are the hero of a near-future war movie when playing this game."

Weāll have more information and hopefully the first screens soon.
