Ubisoft and the US Army announce a collaborative effort to produce ‘the most authentic military console game to date...

Ubisoft have today confirmed that they are developing āAmericaās Army: Rise of A Soldierā collaboratively with the United States Army. The game, which will be released in the Summer 2005 on Xbox and PlayStation2 will allow players to create a soldier and take him through the various stages of his career right up to becoming the leader of a Special Forces Unit.

The licence with the US Army will mean that the gameās designers will have access to Special Forces operatives to discuss everything from combat situations to weapons, and the game will also provide players with a non-linear campaign so that they can choose their soldeirās career path. In addition to that, the game will also feature Xbox Live! and PlayStation2 Online functionality with up the 16 players engaging in combat, as well as offline split-screen cooperative modes.
