Better than expected sales of Vegas 2 and continued sales of Assassins Creed push Ubisoft's fourth quarter performance...

Ubisoft has today revealed its fourth quarter financial performance for the 2007/08 fiscal year, which ended on March 31st, confirming better than expected sales results.

Sales for the three-month period rose by 10% on the year, to 217 million Euros, whilst full year sales performed even better, rising by over 36% to 928 million Euros. The better than expected sales for the fourth quarter have been attributed by Ubisoft to the performance of Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, the publisher's Games for Everyone range, and the continued strength of last year's Assassin's Creed, which recently launched on PC.

Yves Guillemot, Chief Executive Officer of Ubisoft, stated: "2007-08 was a remarkable year for Ubisoft, underpinned by three strategic achievements: "Continued strengthening of existing franchises such as Rainbow Six, Rayman, The Settlers and Ghost Recon which recorded excellent sales levels. The sharp ramp-up of the "Games For Everyone" casual range, whose sales figures tripled over the year. A steady output of new releases with Assassin's Creed and Imagine that have performed exceptionally well."

"These strategic focuses will once again be the key to our success in 2008 which is set to be another record year for the industry with growth expected to reach at least 15%. Ubisoft's games line-up is particularly strong, with no fewer than seven existing franchises, five new releases and new brands in the casual segment."

Has anyone purchased Grand Theft Auto. Is it living up to all the hype, or should I wait till it is being resold as used and save a few bucks.

Your XP points carry on from your previous username for Auto-rewards. Back to left shoulder for cover. Cant change to COD4 style controls. Graphics actually seem worst than first. Not enough online content to warrant moving away from COD4.
