Ubi Reveal Details Of Forthcoming PSP Titles News

By Jon Wilcox on 23/03/2006 Ubisoft gives a rundown on the two Sony Online Entertainment titles heading for the PSP this summer...

Confirmed in November 2005, Ubisoft has today revealed further details of two PSP titles currently in development as part of its deal with Sony Online Entertainment. Vaguely described as a 'turn-based military strategy title' at the end of 2005, Field Commander sees players take on the role of a Field Commander in ATLAS, a covert organisation out to stop covert organisations including terrorists and others who incite war. The game will take place across 30 missions with 15 military divisions at a player's disposal, together with 11 commanders to choose from. A multiplayer mode is yet to be confirmed for the title.

Ubisoft also revealed details on the follow-up to 2005's Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade, Untold Legends: The Warrior's Code. When an evil warlord tries to exterminate the last of an ancient shape-shifting race, a small group of the threatened people come across a secret that may return peace to the land. Over 45 new areas are available to explore in the game, with players also confronting a dozen bosses during the course of the story.

As well as the single-player campaign, The Warrior's Code is set feature a seamless two player co-operative mode together with four player PvP action. Describing the multiplayer options as having functionality over both "PSP system's wireless network and via the Internet", it appears that The Warrior's Code may take advantage of the underused Infrastructure mode on the handheld. In addition, the game will feature a Macro-chat system, an online lobby, and matchmaking system.

We'll have more news on both titles in the future...
