Financial results the starting block of massive future growth for the French publisher...
French publisher Ubisoft has today announced its financial results for the 2004/2005 fiscal year, which has seen the company consolidate and improve upon the end of year results of 2003/2004. Operating income for the year rose from 20.1 million Euros in FY2004 to 41.1 million Euros, with net income rising substantially from 8.8 million Euros in FY2004 to 27 million Euros (before amortization of goodwill).
Free cashflow dropped FY2004âs 59.4 million Euros to 50.6 million Euros, and the companyâs level of net debt dropped by 37.8 million Euros from 119.0 million Euros in 2004 to 81.2 million Euros this year. Sales rose 8% at constant exchange rates thanks to a strong line-up in the FY2004/2005 period that included further instalments of established franchises including:
- Tom Clancyâs Ghost Recon
- Tom Clancyâs Splinter Cell
- Prince of Persia
The fiscal year also saw the introduction of a new franchise for Ubisoft â“ Brothers in Arms, and the first title in the series Road to Hill 30.
Sounding out what amounts to a battle-cry for the company, Ubisoft President Yves Guillemot announced his thoughts on the results and offered an insight into the future of the company:
â2004-2005 was another year of success for Ubisoft: sales grew much faster than the industry, we kept tight control on our cost base and net income exceeded our initial target. In just two years, we have generated 110 million euros of free cash flow, while getting ready for the arrival of the next generation consoles. These positive trends will continue: for this year, we expect sales to reach approximately 600 million euros and operating income to be about 55 million euros, at constant exchange rates. For the next four years, we have the ambition to double in size and to triple our net income. We will continue and launch new brands in a regular basis, while maintaining the quality of our games at the highest level in the industryâ
Weâll have more on Ubisoftâs future releases shortly...
