Ubisoft confirm plans to release Square-Enix RPG in Europe…
Ubisoft today confirmed plans to publish Square-Enix Star Ocean: Till the End of Time in Europe for the Playstation2.
Currently scheduled for release in Autumn 2004, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time focuses on âtwo charismatic teenagers looking for their dear onesâ, where every decision has an influence over their variable endings.
The game marks a departure for Square-Enix as it completely removes traditional RPG elements such as random battles, turn based combat and hidden enemies for a real-time combat system.
Alain Corre, Ubisoft's managing director for Europe, Asia Pacific and South America, said "We are very proud that Square Enix, one of the best RPG creators in the world, chose Ubisoft as a publishing partner for the new opus of their mythic franchise Star OceanTM. It is the very first time in this current generation of machines that this mythic brand will be introduced to European gamers and no doubt they'll praise it as THE PlayStation® 2 RPG game of the Year."
"We are very excited at the prospect of bringing such a strong title as Star OceanTM Till the End of TimeTM to the European public," said John Yamamoto, president of Square Enix Europe. "This demonstrates our commitment to bringing an ever-greater range of quality titles to the PAL market."
