US News Launches on PSP News

US network ABC News announces that PSP owners are now able to access selected downloadable content...

Itâs been reported today on global news outlet Reuters that the US television network ABC News is starting to release content from itâs schedule for viewing on the PSP. According to the report, the channel will allow PSP owners to ââ¦download selected programs to view on the hand-held unit,â and will start with its technology show âAhead of the Curveâ with other content including music reviews to follow soon after.

The report quotes ABC Newsâ Digital Media Group Senior Vice President and General Manager Bernie Gershon commenting, "Today, 99% of people with PSPs are using it to play the fantastic gamesâ¦But our view is that wherever there is a screen, there is a potential viewer of ABC News."

The downloads are available at psp.connect.com for free, but perhaps what makes today's news all the more exciting is that TV networks are already thinking and moving towards providing the PSP with downloadable programme content - hopefully this a sign of things to come.

UMD already dead. Sony has nothing to lose by adding
SD stuff on the Blu-ray discs for PSP viewing.

good point but i think i would only pay about $250 and not bother with the touch screen.with mobile tec in there you could play games over the net any time any where but only at a reasonable price of course.

Sony should have added a 40 or 80 gig internal hard drive like the ipod to the psp instead of making it thinner and lighter! With the extra space it would be

JAZZ-1991, what the hell are you talking about? The PSP redesign is 19% slimmer and 33% lighter than the original PSP. The buttons are more responsive, it supports tv out, has twice the RAM. There is no need to make it any smaller, it feels great in ... [ Read full comment... ]
