Nintendo of America has set up a support page on its website for customers who're experiencing problems with their copies of Super Smash Bros Brawl. Some Wii owners have had difficulty running the game as the lens on "a small percentage" of systems has difficulty reading SSBB's dual-layer disc consistently.
"Super Smash Bros. Brawl utilizes a double-layer disc which has a large memory capacity," commented Nintendo on the support pages of its website. "A very small percentage of Wii consoles may have trouble consistently reading data off this large capacity disc if there is some contamination on the lens of the disc drive. Nintendo has specialized cleaning equipment that can resolve this problem."
The games giant went on to advise gamers not to clean the lens themselves, as it may damage their Wii. Nintendo is offering to repair their customers' Wiis free of charge if they aren't running SSBB satisfactorily.
