Momentum Pictures announce two titles heading for UMD Video...

As the UMD Video catalogue continues unabated it somewhat seems appropriate that Momentum Pictures has announced that two of its titles will soon be heading the same way. In the statement, Momentum announced that The Football Factory and Equilibrium will be released on the PSPâs proprietary format when the handheld launches in Europe on September 1st 2005.

Based on the best-selling John King novel, The Football Factory focuses on the football hooligan gang the Chelsea Headhunters, and is a study of loyalty, football violence and male culture. Equilibrium stars new Batman, Christian Bale, as he battles against a regime where war, music, and touch, are illegal â“ Sean Bean and Sean Pertwee appear as cameos.

Momentum Pictures Product Manager, Adam Eldrett, enthused "The format has done well across both Japan and the USA, so we are looking for continued success across the UK. Looking at the demographics of PSP sales in the USA, we feel that both the Football Factory and Equilibrium match up well with those of the early adopters. These releases will be followed up with Quentin Tarantino's cult classic Reservoir Dogs (Early September). We are committed to embracing the format in the coming months and we hope to have a few surprises up our sleeve. I believe these films will be a success on the UMD format and as a company we are very excited about the future possibilities of this format."

Weâll have further news ahead of the PSPâs European launch in less than four weeks timeâ¦

lol an 80 gb psp is not possible unless they use ssd hard drives which cost sh*t loads to buy independantly maybe you should get used to dreaming, though if they stop making any games for it or make a psp that could only get games from the ps3 then y... [ Read full comment... ]

UMD already dead. Sony has nothing to lose by adding
SD stuff on the Blu-ray discs for PSP viewing.

good point but i think i would only pay about $250 and not bother with the touch screen.with mobile tec in there you could play games over the net any time any where but only at a reasonable price of course.

Sony should have added a 40 or 80 gig internal hard drive like the ipod to the psp instead of making it thinner and lighter! With the extra space it would be
