UMD Music Videos Set To Hit PSP News

Dark Side of the Moon and Nevermind set to feature in the first batch of UMD based music video collections...

Eagle Rock Entertainment has announced that it is to release a raft of music video albums on UMD by the end of the year. The line-up, which will include Pink Floydâs Dark Side of the Moon, Nirvanaâs Nevermind, and the infamous Up In Smoke Tour featuring Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Ice Cube.

The full 2005 line-up also features:

Black Label Society: Boozed, Broozed & Broken Boned
Busta Rhymes: Everything Remains Raw
Jimi Hendrix: Electric Ladyland Classic Album
Iron Maiden: Number of the Beast Classic Album
Marilyn Manson: Guns, God and Government
Metallica: Metallica Classic Album
Puddle of Mudd: Live at the Key Club â“ Striking That Familiar Chord
Snoop Dogg â“ âBig Snoop Doggâs Puff Puff Pass Tourâ

Eagle Rock has also posted a few one minute clips on its website in MPEG-4 format for PSP gamers to sample. Making the announcement Eagle Rock Entertainment Executive Vice President and President of North American Operations, Mike Carden said, âEagle Rock is a forward-thinking company, and weâre always looking at promising new formats that make sense for our catalog [sic]â¦As soon as we saw the quality of the image produced on the PlayStation Portable, we knew it could be a very successful vehicle for our products and we wanted to be the first-to-market with visual music titles.â

With a strong line-up of movie companies already signed onto the UMD format, it seems that the announcement made by Eagle Rock further strengthens the position of the PSP as a multimedia gadget. Weâll have more news on further UMD titles soon...

UMD already dead. Sony has nothing to lose by adding
SD stuff on the Blu-ray discs for PSP viewing.

good point but i think i would only pay about $250 and not bother with the touch screen.with mobile tec in there you could play games over the net any time any where but only at a reasonable price of course.

Sony should have added a 40 or 80 gig internal hard drive like the ipod to the psp instead of making it thinner and lighter! With the extra space it would be
