UK Tabloid Hunting For Violent Videogame Stories News

By Chris Leyton on 31/03/2008 A untitled tabloid is desperate for stories about how videogames turned you to crime...

In a further twist to the videogame drama currently unfolding after the publication of last week's Byron report, trade magazine MCV today noted the lengths to which a certain national paper is going to continue the hate-mongering.

Under the headline of 'Did computer games make you turn to a life of crime?', an untitled national newspaper is seeking stories and promises to "pay hundreds of pounds to the right person".

Of course any hope that the Byron report would draw a line under any , has all but evaporated and it appears that, in the mainstream media eyes at least, videogames are still the scourge of humanity. Lest we forget TV's Anne Diamond's attack on Resident Evil 4 and Scarface: The World is Yours, two titles that are BBFC classified and thus illegal to purchase for people under 15 and 18 respectively.

Perhaps the only alternative is to send e-mails detailing the entertainment and enjoyment that you've enjoyed with videogames; if you're willing and interested check out the page.
