More on this gameDespite the lack of grunt under its bonnet, Treyarch has confirmed that the Wii edition of Call of Duty: World at War is being developed with the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine.
The announcement that the Wii version is being built with the CoD4 engine came at a recent London event, which unveiled World at War to European press.
Modern Warfare, which raised the bar in terms of visuals and gameplay on its Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 launch in 2007, didn't make it onto Nintendo's little white box so it'll be interesting to see exactly how the Wii version will fare. The new title includes contrasting styles of enemy AI for the Japanese and German forces, along with other new features such as propagating flames and Wii-zapper functionality. It's also unclear whether the Wii version will include the same depth in multiplayer over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, such as the co-operative challenges although split-screen will be on offer.
One thing's for sure, Treyarch have very high hopes for the World at War on Wii, with Senior Producer Noah Heller and Creative Lead Richard Farrelly describing it as one of the most visually impressive titles they've seen run on the console yet.
TVG's first look of the World at War is coming soon.

"this is utter cr4p.... just because i didn't get the collectors edition of this game, it doesn't make me any less of a fan. To reward someone who has more money than sense is like Activision saying that they only appreciate gamers who spend the most on games...... What next ... half points for people who buy this game pre-owned.... come on Activision, get your prioritties sorted"
Come on, you serious? I thought this was the motto behind any corporation, not just videogame publishers?
