Following successes with Tomb Raider: Legend and Hitman: Blood Money, SCi posts a rosy pre-end of year statement...
With its end of year results expected shortly, Eidos Interactive's parent company, SCi Games has today issued a trading update that details what it considers to be a successful year for the company.
Citing key releases in Tomb Raider: Legend and Hitman: Blood Money, which have sold over 2.9 million and 1.5 million copies respectively since they were released back in the Spring (far outweighing expectations), SCi confirmed that they expected continuing strong sales through the financial year.
Revenues have also been increased thanks to the likes of Championship Manager 2006/2007, Rogue Trooper, Conflict Global Storm, and Urban Chaos. LEGO Star Wars continues to draw in income with sales of over 3.5 million copies since it was released in Easter 2005. As such, the company is expected to reveal trading profits of approximately £25 million for the end of year 2006.
SCi has also announced that it's to oversee the launch of nineteen titles in the 2007 and 2008 financial years, such as Tomb Raider 10th Anniversary, Lego Bionicle, Reservoir Dogs and Just Cause, compared with nine in 2006. Distribution deals with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will also see the company bring Justice League Heroes and 300 March to Glory.
Jane Cavanagh, CEO of SCi Entertainment Group plc, said, 'We are delighted with the progress that the Group has made during the year and the successful programme of product launches. Looking forward, we have an even more extensive portfolio of new products to come to market and are therefore optimistic about the Group's prospects for the future.'
We'll have more on SCi's line-up for 2007 and beyond shortly...
