TrackMania Comes To DS News

The dinky racing game makes the jump from PC to DS and is scheduled for a Q4 2008 release...
Focus Home Interactive has announced that it will be publishing a DS version of the PC game, TrackMania. In development at Firebrand Studios (which has previous DS experience on Race Driver: Create & Race), TrackMania DS is scheduled for release towards the end of 2008.
This DS version, like its PC predecessor, will feature car aerobatics of huge jumps, gravity defying loop-the-loops and velocity surging boosts. There will also be a track editor (again, similarly to the PC game), which will allow gamers to make their own death-defying circuits.

"Their technology and background guarantee TrackMania DS will be a solid adaptation of the PC game, while also making the most of unique features of the DS. The fact that some members of the Firebrand team are true TrackMania fans definitely convinced us to trust them, and the first results are spectacular. We believe that the Nintendo DS console is well-suited for more casual games than to realistic simulations, and TrackMania DS, with the fun it brings in solo as well as in multiplayer mode, along with its well-known track editor, should find itself quite a nice place on Nintendo's handheld."
