Too Human gets an August 29th European release date on Xbox 360 - August 19th in the US...
Our Microsoft Spring Showcase correspondent from San Francisco (the Welshman), has spoken about Too Human with Silicon Knights' President, Denis Dyack, who revealed a European release date of August 29th for the title (August 19th in the States).
Other points worthy of note for this Xbox 360 exclusive are that Silicon Knights has decided to drop 4 player co-op in the game, focusing on 2 player slots for co-operative play instead. It seems the action was a bit too fast paced for a rowdy quadruplet of players.
Dyack also spoke of the themes for the series' planned trilogy. It seems the first game will focus on discovery, the second on revenge, and the third on enlightenment. Gamers will be able to transfer their skill points between each sequel, so a level 30 character can be carried over from TH1 to TH2 seamlessly.
"The story of Too Human is the best we've ever done," commented Dyack, adding that the studio chose to base the series on Norse mythology because "Greek mythology is so boring..." A slight dig at SCEA Santa Monica perhaps?
The first Too Human game is slated as an Xbox 360 exclusive and as for the next two instalments Dyack said that keeping the game on Microsoft's console was "still the goal".
The litigation between Epic and Silicon Knights surrounding Unreal Engine 3 will certainly be a hindrance for the studio and while Dyack couldn't comment on the issue, he did nevertheless confirm that the legal battle was ongoing.
A demo for Too Human will heat up Xbox Live sometime in August prior to the game's release.
