First details of Lara`s eagerly awaited next adventure begin to filter through...

The first details on Lara Croft`s eagerly awaited next adventure began to filter through today.

The game is set to be pitched towards a more adult market, with the game being more darker and grittier then what`s come before. The game is said to appear in three distinct areas. The first is set in Paris, then moving onto the catacombs under the city and finally ending up at a mental asylum.

Lara is said to be framed for murder early on in the game, as the game unfolds with Lara trying to clear her name she uncovers a sinister criminal underworld.

It\\\'s already known that Curtis another playable character will feature, however in what role is still unknown.

In terms of specific gameplay changes, Lara abilites and skills are set to develop depending on what you do in the game. Thus certain areas will only open as you gain the skills to do so.

There`s currently some strife within Core as to what to call Lara`s new adventure. Many members want to see the Tomb Raider moniker dropped, however certain members don`t want to loose the brand awareness that the title brings.

It`s also believed that Core are set to do a u-turn on their previous comments by releasing a new adventure every year, this could be because of pressure from publisher Eidos.

None of the above information has been officially confirmed or denied, however with a tentative release date of Christmas 2002 expect more information soon.
