New screens and fresh information on the return of Lara Croft...

New Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness screens hit the net today, as we learnt new details on Laraâs next adventure.

It seems that the game will focus on the balance between Lara Croft and Kurtis Trent, however Core are keen to avoid the mistakes made by Konami with Metal Gear Solid 2. To prevent alienation of Tomb Raider fans, the sections where players control Kurt will be limited, however the action is said to be very intense during these moments. As well as being more action based and being able to use more weapons and counter-moves, Kurtis also has a psychic ability allowing him to move objects in a limited manner.

Weâve also learnt a little about the so-called RPG elements, no need to worry about levelling up and experience points, rather this will take the form of a reward system. Completing difficult jumps, performing leaps of faith and taking the more precarious routes through the adventure will reward players with new weapons, health-packs and the ability to increase Laraâs abilities such as hanging strength.

This title is set to be the first of a five game series detailing the plot, weâve known that two other Lara titles are due, however based on the fans reception we may see two spin-off titles focussing on Kurtis Trent that will explain a little more about the character.
