Eidos confirms its worst fears as Lara misses the crucial release date...
Eidos today confirmed its deepest fears, with the announcement that āTomb Raider: The Angel of Darknessā will probably not ship in Europe before the end of June.
Bizarrely, Eidos has confirmed that the PC version will ship to European shop shelves on June 30th; however, whilst the PS2 version may be shipped to certain European territories in time, itās expecting at least 1million units to be delayed until some point in July.
This has led to Eidos slashing its financial expectations for the year ending June 30th 2003. Whilst the UK publisher did not disclose its expectations, the announcement has sent shares falling by as much as 10%.
The game has seen numerous delays, as Core tried to implement a new control and camera system, which ultimately failed and left the developer rushing to implement a more traditional system.
Reviews from the American press have been mixed to say the best, however weāll have a closer look at the title next week (fingers crossed).
