Ubisoft announce a partnership with Amon Tobin to score the soundtrack for the forthcoming Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory…

Ubisoft today confirmed that it has partnered with Amon Tobin to compose an original soundtrack for the forthcoming Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

Renown for his vanguard production and composition work, Tobin utilises an eclectic array of sounds, both electronic and organic, to create âunique sonic landscapes, and excels at conjuring diverse and distinctive musical atmospheres that range from playful to menacingâ â“ their words not oursâ¦

The soundtrack will be released via Ninja Tune as a companion soundtrack featuring extended and remixed versions of the themes from the game, with a Limited Edition 5.1 Surround version planned for release in spring 2005.

âIt quickly became clear that Ubisoft was interested in music that completely intertwined with the overall fabric of Tom Clancyâs Splinter Cell Chaos Theory⢠to an extent that has not been heard before in video games â“ the development team members are true perfectionists, and we labored meticulously over every aspect of the sound design,â said Tobin. âNo concessions were made that would compromise the integrity of the soundtrack, and thatâs rare in a project of this scale.â

âFor Tom Clancyâs Splinter Cell Chaos Theoryâ¢, the development team has paid a very special attention to design a game where graphics, sounds and gameplay were complementary and well balanced. As a result, dynamic music and sounds now bring the game to another level of realism and immersionâ said Florence Alibert, Marketing Director for Ubisoft EMEA. âThanks to his moody, genre bending, cutting edge music, Amon Tobinâs brings the perfect creative touch to the Tom Clancyâs Splinter Cell Chaos Theory⢠atmosphere.â
