First screens and information FROM the latest genre to get The Simpsons treatment.
EA has released the first information and screens from the forthcoming The Simpsons Skateboarding, due for release in the autumn on the PS2. In development at UK based, The Code Monkeys, the game takes favourite characters and locations from the hit-show and blends them into a Tony Hawks styled game.
The whole of Springfield has been converted into a giant skate park, whilst everybody jumps into action hoping to win the $99 fictional grand prize. Familiar locations will include shredding the halls of Springfield Elementary, going through the stages at Krusty-Lu Studios and sidewalk surfing Downtown to the Kwik-E-Mart. Better yet skate the Springfield Gorge, Itchy and Scratchy land, Sir Putt-A-Lotâs and trigger a meltdown at the highly radioactive Power Plant.
The character list so far includes The Simpsons Family, Otto, Professor Fink, Nelson and Krusty the Klown, though others are expected. Each character has around 40 moves to their disposal, and includes tricks unique to the character such as Bartâs âIn Your Dreamsâ to Homerâs âStinkyfish.â
The game will feature a number of game modes, including Freeskate, Skate Fest, Trick Contest, Skillz School and a good game of skateboard H-O-R-S-E. The more you skate, the more hidden boards, characters and levels you unlock. Also, players and their friends can throw elbows to grab the grand prize* in single or dual-player, head-to-head mode.
The Simpsons Skateboarding is due for release in the Autumn on PS2.
