There`s not much bigger then the Lord of the Rings at the moment, which would probably explain why there are two different games coming out. Universal have snagged the videogame rights to Tolkien`s novels, whilst EA have snapped up the rights to the film which is currently setting the charts alight on both sides of the Atlantic. <br /> <br /> Today we receivbed the first screens and concept art to come from Universal`s take, currently being developed by WXP Technologies. <br /> <br /> The game is due for release in October 2002 on Xbox, as the player takes control of Frodo, Aragorn or Gandalf as they explore eight different Realms within Middle-earth, solving quests and engaging in weapon-based combat. They will travel from the Shire to the Misty mountains encountering friend and foe alike such as Aragorn and Galadriel, Orcs, Black Riders and an evil Balrog in his quest to destroy the fabled One Ring of Power. <br /> <br /> We`ll have more news on this title very soon.
