Seeing all the attention that the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy has amassed over the last couple of years, it’s good to see the book that began it all gaining the recognition that it deserves.<br><br>Originally a GameCube exclusive, Vivendi Universal made the decision to release the game on all formats; we’re told the GameCube is the leading format and the video is based on this version.<br><br>The Hobbit looks to be a similar RPG experience to titles such as Zelda, however our initial impressions don’t bode to favourably to the over-simplistic visual style – sure The Hobbit was geared to a younger market, but a grittier look would have pleased us more.<br><br>As always if the actual game lives up to the book’s standards we could have one to keep an eye out for; we’ll be putting the game through its paces at E3, but until then make sure to check out the first video footage of the game in action.
