The Empire Strikes Back News

By Jon Wilcox on 01/11/2004 Just days after going into administration, Jez San buys Argonaut subsidiaries back as ‘going concerns’…

The rollercoaster ride that Argonaut Games has been riding on for the last couple of months has taken a new turn when it transpired that the company’s founder, Jez San, has bought back two of Argonaut’s subsidiaries – Kung Fu Chaos creators, Just Add Monsters, and mobile developers, Morpheme.

Argonaut Games Ltd and the two subsidiary companies were handed over to joint-administrators Asher Miller and David Rubin last week.

In the statement announcing the news, Miller said that, "We are pleased to announce the sale of these two businesses as going concerns…This has saved over 40 jobs as well as the substantial employment claims that would have arisen had the sales not been achieved."

Argonaut Games Ltd. remains in administration, although Miller went on to say in the statement that they hope a buyer can be found soon.

We’ll have more on the future of Argonaut shortly…
