Underwater fun for all the family with this Virtual Pet game for the PC.
The virtual pet gaming genre has taken off from the first time they were put on the shelfâs and the reason for this⦠Well people like to play games where they know they are going to get a unique experience, and let me tell you this title is not going to let any VP (virtual pet) lovers down.
So how did Sea Moneys come around, well the history goes back a fair way so Iâll give you a show summary⦠Sea-Monkeys was initially launched in America in 1960 by Honey Toy Industries as a biological novelty that sold in superhero comic books for only 49 cents. Sea-Monkeys come as dehydrated eggs, sealed in packets. When added to water the eggs instantly came to life as prehistoric-like underwater creatures, that can live up to two years as underwater pets. Not only did Sea-Monkeys capture the imagination of children and adults alike as an inexpensive novelty and toy; it also enabled families and schools to study the underwater oddities as a mysterious biological hobby. They've even been into space with NASA and the Space Shuttle!
The game is all tied in nicely using the different features to tone and enhance the others. The main difference with this game from other VP games is that the experiences is unique, and how does this work? The answer is simple every thing in the game is fun, the graphics are bright, colourful and very cheerful while being user friendly at the same time. The many different options all add to the users experience.
For instance the game is set around your Sea Monkeys but you can bring in other creatures to enhance the activity of the tank, there are many different life like creatures to choose from including fish, electric eels and octopusâs. Each different creature has its good points and its bad points, for instance the octopusâs that are in the tank will defend your Sea Monkeys but will use vital resources such as oxygen and good at the same time.
The interface that is used in the game is bright and clearly laid out meaning that the user can find what they want when they want it. The icons are bright and standout from the background. To go shopping and buy new items for your tank you will need to collect pearls that will give you cash, the bigger the pearl the more cash you will get, but you will need to train your Sea Monkeys to pick they up for you if you want the money. It is a very simple method of currency but in a Virtual Pet this is not the most important feature, but it does work extremely well.
As your Sea Monkeys age they will get bigger providing they you are giving them everything that they need for a happy life. There are two ways of doing most things in the game they are the natural way or the mechanical way. Some good examples of this would be oxygenating the tank, you can either use pondweeds and such like plants that create oxygen underwater or a machine that produces a steady stream of oxygen. The machines are usually the more efficient way but they usually cost more and donât look as nice in the tank as organic methods.
So what has this game got that other Virtual pet games havenât? Its more of a case of what more does a Virtual Pet game need that not already in the game. The game includes many different objects and sea creatures to keep anyone happy, the graphics as colourful and cheerful meaning you donât get bored of looking at the same thing for hours.
This new Virtual Pet game is going to hit the PC in November with a price tag of £24.99, Iâm sure that the game will appeal to more that just Kids as it has something for everyone.
